Abstract

The interaction between a second stage lamellar graphite compound (LGC) and potassium (KC 24) and toluene, o-, m- and p-xylenes and mesitylene has been studied. Ternary LGCs with toluene and o-xylene have been derived, their thermal and oxidation stabilities have been examined and their structures are discussed. It is shown that the intercalation of toluene and o-xylene into KC 24 is reversible.
