Abstract

In this report we present a fatal case of severe rhabdomyolysis during early recovery following a complicated but successful orthotopic liver transplantation. The key point in this case is skin necrosis and we consider that the clinical association of rhabdomyolysis and skin necrosis is a consequence of terlipressine induced severe vasoconstriction. A literature search was performed, in an attempt to identify similar cases as well as other plausible explanations. J Med Cases. 2014;5(4):248-252 doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.14740/jmc 1721 w
