Abstract
AbstractFive patients with chronic dislocation of the mandible have been treated with temporomandibular joint arthroplasty. Removal of the articular tubercle of the glenoid fossa in these patients has converted symptomatic dislocation into asymptomatic subluxation. Two patients with recurrent painful subluxation have also improved following the procedure.
