Abstract

The paper investigated theoretically the temperature sensitivity of a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) two-mode interferometer and found that the sensitivity has a non-monotonic dependence on wavelength, which is different from conventional two-mode fibers. The theoretical results were partially verified by experiments. The unique properties of the two-mode PCF described in this paper could be useful for novel fiber devices and sensor applications.
