Abstract

AbstractSuperplastic forming technology is very important for the manufacturing of complex aerospace components, which has strict requirements for temperature control. The heating furnace of superplastic forming equipment contains distributed multi-channel heating units which poses a number of difficulties for temperature control. Therefore, it is necessary to build an accurate temperature field model so that the heating state can be accurately simulated. In addition, the coupling relationship among multiple heating channels should be also explored. In order to study the temperature field distribution of superplastic forming heating system, the principle of thermal resistance network method is studied to reveal the heat conduction mechanism of heating furnace. In addition, the conventional finite element method is carried, and the results of the two methods are compared. The results show that the thermal resistance network is feasible to solve temperature field.KeywordsTemperature field distributionFinite element methodThermal resistance network
