Abstract

Abstract Self-diffusion coefficients for nine liquid metals are calculated over a wide temperature range using an expression developed by consideration of a rigid sphere model and application of a newly developed equation of state. Comparisons made with experimental data and previously published expressions suggest that the rigid sphere model provides an accurate means of calculating self-diffusion coefficients for liquid metals.
