Abstract
A solid state heater control which matches the heat dissipation rate from a heater element with the thermal conductivity of the bathing fluid-tissue interface was used to minimize artifacts during measurement of minute volume changes (<0.1 ml) in a plethysmograph. Control was achieved by regulating the duration of voltage applied to the heater element.
