Abstract
This article describes a project by the city of Renton, Washington, to build a new groundwater treatment plant on a public golf course to enhance operations and improve water quality. Though advantageous for water supply operations and maintenance, the closeness of these facilities on city‐owned property required intricate coordination between the city's utilities and parks departments to minimize the effects on golfers using the golf course and operations during the new plant's construction. The article lists treatment objectives and provides a plant description, discusses operator training and plant startup, and describes plant operations. A side bar of Lessons Learned is included.
