Abstract

Recently there is a growing concern about frequency, magnitude and resulting damages of geodynamic processes manifestations, including landslides, mudslides, thermocraters. Those could be caused both by global warming and by increasing human economic interference in northern latitudes. There is a growing demand for the development of new technologies, based on the natural phenomena never applied before. Earth’s natural pulsed electromagnetic field in a very low frequency bandwidth could be that phenomena providing a crucial information. The paper provides a brief description of hardware developed and a detailed workflow of the technology, allowing to study processes in global scale, including Earth’s inner structure research and at the same time allowing to forecast smaller scale exogenic processes. The work presents actual results of anticipatory forecasting of geodynamic processes on a landslide slope bearing a main gas pipeline. Practical use of the automated system for the estimation of stress-strain state of the rocks on the Gazprom facilities proves its efficiency, reliability and accuracy for over 15 years.
