Abstract

The mines of the Permo-Carboniferous coalfield in North China and the Late Permian coalfield in the South are seriously threatened with Karst Water from limestone, which results in frequent water inrush and mine inundation. The mines in the areas of the Yellow Huai and Shongliao plains are generally endangered by the water from Quarternary alluvium. Therefore, groundwater disaster is one of the main problems of coal mine safety in China.
