Abstract

The article presents the results of research on the development of the electron beam butt welding technology of 10CrMo9-10 steel sheets with parameters that allow the achievement of a specific fusion depth. The developed technology also allows favorable conditions for obtaining the appropriate hardness in the weld area, as well as edge visibility for further automated processing systems. Thus, the developed welding technology enables the fulfillment of a number of specific requirements beyond the possibilities of manual welding as well as other methods. When the correctness of the welding process was assessed, hardness measurements were performed, as well as microscopic examinations, which revealed the presence of a favorable structure, as well as the hardness distribution, in the joint area.
