Abstract

Harau District is one of the sub-districts in Lima Puluh Kota District, located between four sub-districts, with the following regional boundaries: north of Pangkalan Koto Baru sub-district, south of Payakumbuh Subdistrict, west of Mungka District, east of Riau Province, with an area of 416.80 Km2. Supporting the topography of the area, Harau District is relatively flat with altitudes from sea level between 500 meters to 700 meters. In this area, there are 11 (eleven) villages. The population of Harau Subdistrict in 2015 was 24,577 male residents and 24,784 female residents, and in 2015 there were 12,767 households. In Harau Subdistrict, there are also Leading Tourism Objects in West Sumatra Province, namely Harau Valley. In 2016, ODTW was able to attract 259,995 domestic tourists and 3,119 foreign tourists. However, the level of visits has not been accompanied by good toilet management by tourist managers. This science and technology for the community aim to provide managerial knowledge and abilities in managing toilets in harau tourism objects, Harau District. This activity specifically aims to increase the managerial knowledge, understanding, and abilities of the previous toilet manager, and it is expected that this activity can be forwarded to other toilet managers outside the harau tourist area in Kanagarian Tarantang in an effort to increase tourism potential, so as to increase the interest of tourists to visit Harau Tourism Object. The results of training activities for toilet owners and managers obtain knowledge in good toilet management and care so that they can support tourism activities in the Harau tourist area. And also discussing the improvement of toilet facilities that are needed in the future so that there will be a provision of toilet facilities that are in accordance with toilet standards of tourist objects.
