Abstract

The article discusses the formation of functionally oriented coatings of marine diesel engine parts, general approach to the synthesis of the basic technological process, and technological features when apply-ing multilayer coatings with variable properties. The formation of coverage is associated with the provision of the required resource for marine diesels and their elements. The choice of the criterion of the limiting state is determined by the features of the operational function acting on the diesel element. Classifications of parts of marine diesel engines and processes causing a change in technical condition are given. The justified establishment of the criterion of the limiting state makes it possible to solve the problem of ensuring an equal specified life or a multiple one of the former one.
