Abstract

The internet of Things (IoT) offers a paradigm for connecting a large range of devices (things) to the internet. This will result in the co-location of wireless devices with very high densities. It is expected that in-band front door coupling will increase, the frequency range will extend into the 10s of GHz range, and the unlicensed frequency bands will be more heavily occupied. It is inevitable therefore, that EMC problems will become more severe and this will have implications for EMC analysis and testing. It is necessary that EMC problems are successfully addressed so that the potential of the IoT is not restricted.
