Abstract

It is demonstrated that introducing up to 15% pyrite cinder into ceramic mixtures significantly improves the cold resistance of roof tiles; the decrease in water absorption in this case is not proportional to the increase in cold resistance. Auniform distribution of pores of size 10−6–10−7 m facilitates a substantial increase in cold resistance.
