Abstract

In today’s competitive business environment the evaluation and ranking of container terminals plays a crucial role. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) models are suitable to measure the efficiencies of alternatives specified with multiple inputs with multiple outputs, where as Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) models are suitable to measure the efficiencies of alternatives specified by multiple inputs with single output. In this four inputs and four outputs are considered for the evaluation of technical efficiency of container terminals and DEA is implemented to evaluate the performance of these container terminals based on technical efficiency. Also Regression analysis is performed to identify the factors which affect the technical efficiency mostly.
