Abstract

A study of the behind-the-scenes process of collaborating on a final intervention during team based live supervision in systemic family therapy is the focus of this paper. The final intervention serves as a powerful rejoining technique with the family at the conclusion of a session. It also organizes the treatment and training function of the group. Time-consuming team effort is involved during the planning break in collaborating on a final intervention. Trainers can enhance learning during this process by structuring group thinking and by attending to specific tasks required in the conceptualization, design, and delivery of effective interventions.
