Abstract

This article focuses on teaching students how to resolve their conflicts with schoolmates and faculty constructively. The topics discussed are: (a) the nature of conflict; (b) the strategies used to resolve conflicts; (c) the problem‐solving negotiation procedure; (d) the procedure for mediating schoolmates’ conflicts; and (e) the implementation of a conflict resolution and peer mediation program in the school. Finally, the use of conflict resolution procedures to manage conflicts between students with and without disabilities will be discussed.
