Abstract

This paper describes the author's experience completely redesigning his computer graphics course to teach OpenGL shader programming through team-based learning. In the team-based learning approach to the course students read chapters from the textbook outside of class time and take quizzes through the University's course management system. During class, students work in teams to complete laboratory activities and assignments that help to strengthen their understanding of the material from the textbook. Course evaluations suggest high student satisfaction with the new approach to the course.
