Abstract

The objective of the study is to discuss dropout rates from the teacher training course at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP), a free public education institution maintained by the federal government, which offers technical courses at higher level. The data and analysis were obtained from the Nilo Peçanha Platform (PNP) from 2017 to 2021. The methodology is exploratory and quantitative research. As result, there was a reduction in the dropout rate during this period, possibly due to institutional actions and student assistance offered during the period, including the Covid-19 pandemic period.
