Abstract

This paper explores the verbal feedbacks utilized by a group of primary school teacher. Data was gathered through classroom observation. All lessons were audio taped and transcribed. The analysis of the transcripts revealed that there were variations in the feedbacks given among the teachers: some forms of feedback were utilized more frequent than others. These results are important as they provide an awareness of the feedback practices employed in the classroom and the significant effects on classroom interaction and student learning. The results offer implications and suggestions for pedagogica considerations within an ESL setting.
