Abstract

Flexible load is the main component of demand-side response resources, and its adjustment is of great significance to the realization of demand-side management. The thermostatically controlled load (TCL) is its important component with flexible adjustment ability. The aggregation of heterogeneous TCL is uncertain and complex. In this paper, the virtual battery model is used to equivalently aggregate TCL because of its thermal energy storage properties. Assuming that aggregators participate in the power market composed of power generation, system operators, and loads. When all aggregators spend the least amount of money the power allocation is performed. And the Lagrangian relaxation is used to solve this optimization question, finally the transactions of the various components are obtained. That TCL aggregator participates in power distribution under the virtual energy storage model is achievable and the result shows that the cost is less than that without its participation.
