Abstract

The supersonic flow of the ultrarelativistic fluid around a circular cone is considered. This flow is described by the equation identical to the Taylor–Maccoll [Proc. R. Soc. London Ser. A 139, 278 I (1933)] equation in nonrelativistic gasdynamics. The characteristics of the post-shock gas are found. The maximum cone angles at which the shock is attached to the cone are less than the respective values in nonrelativistic gasdynamics.
