Abstract
A study of morphology and biology of the louse flies Icosta holoptera holoptera Lutz, 1915 and I. holoptera omnisetosa Maa, 1969 showed that they are two different species. Specimen of I. omnisetosa stat. n., a parasite of migrant pintail snipe Gallinago stenura (Bonaparte), is recorded from Chukotka Autonomous Region (Russia) for the first time.
