Abstract

Pericardial effusion in Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) has a low frequency and it is mostly asymptomatic. However, cardiac tamponade as an initial presentation in this pathology is rare, and even rarer in association with a mediastinal cyst of primary thymic origin. We present the case of a 26-year-old patient who, after a recent diagnosis of classic scleronodular HL, presented to our institution with cardiac tamponade associated with a mediastinal cystic lesion of uncertain aetiology.
