Abstract

<p class="06IsiAbstrak">In Kejawen Islamic literature, Suluk Wujil by Sunan Bonang is a literary work that is full of Sufism content. This research examines how the stages of a person towards makrifat according to Sunan Bonang. The method uses library research, and data analysis with a symbolic interaction approach. The results of this study indicate that Suluk Wujil unfolds three specific stages to reach the level of unity. First, the <em>takhalli</em> stage, in which a person led to recognize his human nature. Second, the <em>tahalli</em> stage, in which each practitioner guides in performing prayers and dhikr without losing contact with God. Finally, the <em>tajalli</em> stage is when a person has become one with God, it means that his will has merged with God's will. However, in all of these stages in the teachings of Suluk Wujil not at all release three interlocking elements of Sufism, namely sharia, tariqat, and hakikat.</p>
