Abstract

Maladaptive self-focused attention (SFA) is a bias toward internal thoughts that may predict poor cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) response. In this study, we used resting state functional connectivity MRI to test whether maladaptive SFA maps onto hyperconnectivity within the default mode network (DMN), an intrinsic brain network mediating internally-directed mentation, and whether DMN hyperconnectivity predicts worse CBT response.
