Abstract

Objective The objective of the project (2007-2009) is to plan and implement a master level programme in sexual health promotion in co-operation between Nordic partners (Finland, Sweden and Norway). The new joint master programme (90-120 ECTS) fits into the European educational market and fulfils the aims of Bologna process. The Nordic master degree programme in sexual health promotion will strenghten the Nordic countries’position in the international education area, and promotes the development of a European higher education area. The study programme aims to decrease barriers in education among the Nordic countries and facilitate comparability of the degrees. The Nordic capital knowledge in this project consists on: Finland: sexual health promotion and education, Norway: clinical sexology and Sverige: sexological research. Different institutions develop their own modules. Methods • 1. Needs analysis (started year 2006) • 2. Development of new curriculum for joint master progamme • 3. Definition of competencies, outcomes, modules, methods, criterias to assure quality. • 4. Development of learning material and internetbased platform • 5. Teacher exchange • 6. Implementation and evaluation of the master programme • 7. Dissemination of the developed knowledge Different modules of curriculum will be developed at different higher education institutions. The content must be controlled and approved by institutions. Jyvaskyla University of Applied Sciences coordinates the different modules development and approves the composition of master degree programme. Result As a result of this work, the master degree programme's curriculum will be developed, piloted and evaluated beyond the three-year duration of the project.
