Abstract

Summary Peripheral blood T lymphocytes and T cell subsets were examined in 17 subjects with lichen sclerosus et atrophicus using monoclonal antibodies OKT3, OKT4, OKT8 The results were compared with those obtained from 17 healthy age-and sex-matched controls. The percentages of OKT3, and OKT8, cells were significantly reduced in patients with LSA, A direct correlation between the degree of activity of the disease and percentages of OKT3+3, OKT4+, cells and the helper suppressor ratio was observed. These data are then discussed.
