Abstract
1. The interaction between Sr(OH)2 and H2O2 was investigated at various H2O2 concentrations by the solubility method in the system Sr(OH)2-H2O2-H2O at −10‡, 0‡, 20‡, 30‡ and 50‡. 2. Compounds established with certainty by the method of residues were strontium peroxide octahydrate SrO2 · 8H2 and strontium peroxide diperhydrate SrO2·2H2O2. The existence was established of the previously unknown strontium peroxide monoperhydrate SrO2·H2O2, which is stable at H2O2 concentrations in the liquid phase from 2.9%7o to 9. 0% at 50‡. 3. Data in the literature on the existence of semi- and hexa-hydrates were not confirmed. The only hydrate form is strontium peroxide octahydrate SrO2·8H2O.
