Abstract
Reliability centered asset management (RCAM) based transmission maintenance planning aims to optimize the planned transmission outage that maximizes the system reliability with reasonable costs. This study is the continuation of a recent RCAM based transformer maintenance procedure and proposes a revised plan that will provide better reliability indices, total costs, and longer life cycles. The proposed procedure is applied to the power transformers in the Thrace Region Power transformers of Turkish National Power Transmission System. The results show that the criticality based revisions provide significant improvements in system reliability indices and life cycle of power transformers.
