Abstract

Little is known about the safety of intermittent use of topical steroids on hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis function in infants with atopic dermatitis (AD). This study evaluates the morning salivary cortisol levels in children using maintenance treatment with topical corticosteroids with and without proactive approach.
