Abstract

Systematic shell-model calculations in 2p1 f shell nuclei are reported, to assess the relative importance of isoscalar and isovector pairing in the presence of nuclear deformation and a spin-orbit interaction. Results are presented for three N = Z nuclei, 44Ti, 46V and 48Cr.
