Abstract

Public governance has been gaining spacein the national literature, especially in recentyears, when the federal governmentassumed that it would be a state policy. Thispaper aims to present the results of asystematic literature review withbibliometric analysis on public governance,especially the one that emphasizes theFederal Institutions of Higher Education(IFES, Brazilian acronym). The research datawere found in the database of theCoordination for the Improvement of HigherEducation Personnel for January/February2022, and used the procedures defined inthe Proknow-C method. The results showedan expressive national literatureapproaching public governance; however,when analyzed under the IFES’ perspective,the quantity of articles meeting theprotocols established by the method wasinsignificant, indicating a gap in thisknowledge field, even though the FederalAudit Court has been carrying out publicgovernance audits in Brazilian federaluniversities, since 2018
