Abstract

Objective. Objective is to improve the quality of automatic control of the load of cutting drive motor of shearer at the expense of introduction of fuzzy inference algorithm into the automatic control of operation modes of motor of cutting drive.Methods. A stage to determine nonfuzzy input variable of system as statistic indices has been added to universally accepted algorithm of a fuzzy output. The indices make it possible to identify operation mode of motor of cutting drive of shearer. Input nonfuzzy variable of the system is a result of statistic processing of information signal from the sensor to find unique regularities within the signal; the regularities should cor-respond to one or several operation modes of motor of cutting drive. Taking into consideration features of input nonfuzzy variables formation, the system performs non-fuzzy inference discretely in time; in this con-text, fuzzy output algorithm is added by the conditions for data accumulation, variations, and zero variations in the motor operation mode.Findings. A technique to integrate a behavioural model of a motor of cutting drive of shearer, considered as a control object, into a fuzzy output algorithm has been proposed. Moreover, recommendations, concern-ing determination of both nonfuzzy and linguistic input variables of the system, formation of a basis of fuzzy products, and determination of conditions for data accumulation, variations, and zero variations of the op-eration modes of motor have been formulated.Practical implications. The proposed technique is theoretical basis to solve topical scientific and applica-tion problem as well as to use nonfuzzy algorithms to control mining machines to improve their efficiency.
