Abstract

Summary Lysine is easily homopolymerized by thermal condensation. In this paper is described the formation of copolymers of lysine with acidic, neutral or basic aminoacids. The polymers have been characterized by electrophoretic mobility, paper chromatography, infrared absorption spectra and gelfiltration. After acidic hydrolysis aminoacid compositions were determined by a colorimetric method using column chromatography. Lysyl linkages in some polymers were also determined by the DNFB method.
