ABSTRACTPrevious successful attempts to synthesize metallic meteorites are reviewed. The author also has been successful in synthesizing an octahedrite containing 27.7% nickel. Other alloys were prepared containing various amounts of iron, nickel, and cobalt, and 2 of these showed poorly developed Widmanstätten figures. The composition, heat treatment, hardness, and, in some cases, specific gravity of these alloys are given.
