Abstract

Abstract A new method has been successfully developed to synthesize SnO2 nanoribbons in a large scale by direct oxidation of tin powders. The lengths of the nanoribbons were up to several hundreds of micrometers, and the width and thickness were in the range of 20–150 nm and 10–50 nm, respectively. The as-synthesized SnO2 nanoribbons had preferred [001] growth direction.
