Abstract

Abstract Selenium doped TiO 2 and Selenium doped TiO 2 /Ag composite thin films were fabricated by spin coating, followed by post annealing. The Ag concentration in the thin film composites was controlled. The XPS, XRD and electron microscopy characterization showed that Se 4+ and Ag 0 were successfully introduced into TiO 2 nanostructure. The catalytic performance of as-deposited thin films was investigated in methylene blue degradation reaction under visible light irradiation, and the relationship between Ag concentration and photocatalytic performance of the thin film composites was explored.
