Abstract

Four different methods have yielded polycondensation monomers of a new type— activated biscarbonates of diols. The kinetics of anilinolysis of model methyl- p-nitrophenyl carbonate has been investigated. Synthesis of the polyurethanes by polycondensation of these monomers in mild conditions in a DMFA medium has been carried out. It was established that the best departing group in terms both of the accessibility of the monomers and the results of polycondensation is the p-nitrophenoxide group. Some aspects of the polycondensation mechanism are considered.
