Abstract
Immobilized TiO2 photocatalytic films were produced by the sol-gel method on stainless steel substrates from four different sols. Starting TiO2 solutions were prepared with and without polyethylene glycol (PEG) and p-25 nano powder. PEG and p-25 were added to sols to improve the photocatalytic properties and homogeneity of the titanium oxide films. The surface morphology of the films was studied by scanning electron microscopy. Decomposition of the organic compounds from the gels was studied using thermal gravimetry and differential thermal analysis. Structural properties of the films prepared at different calcination temperatures were studied by X-ray diffraction.
