Abstract

PtSi compound with porous structure had been synthesized by selective dissolution of a pre-prepared Pt 20Si 80 alloy. A Pt 20Si 80 ribbon precursor alloy with the structure of nano-scale PtSi compound 3D network embedded in Si matrix was pre-prepared using a single-roller melting-spinning method. Then the Si matrix is removed by electrochemical selective dissolution and thus the 3D nanoporous PtSi compound is obtained. It is expected that this porous PtSi compound will find applications in the field of electrocatalyst, optoelectronic devices, as well as infrared detectors. This study paves a new way for the fabrication of porous compounds or alloys by excavation of a 3 d network phase from a multiphase system.
