Abstract

Graphitic Carbon Nitride (g-C3N4) is recently becoming an interesting semiconductor material with several potential applications such as a catalyst for organic synthesis, electrodes, photo-catalyst, and hydrogen storage material. In this experimental work, the improvement of photo-catalytic activity of g-C3N4 for tofu wastewater degradation was observed by modification of catalyst’s morphology to be in nano-tubular form. The nano-tubular graphitic carbon nitride has been synthesized and was applied for photo-degradation of tofu waste using visible light irradiation. The nanotubular formed in this result has the diameter of 300 nm and length of 30-50 µm and having an ability to reduce the value of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) by more than 90%.
