Abstract

The size-controlled γ-Al2O3 nanoparticles were prepared via a homogeneous precipitation method. The results showed that the size-controlled and approximately spherical γ-Al2O3 nanoparticles could be prepared via changing the ratio of n(SO42−) to n(NO3–). For the obtained γ-Al2O3 with the ratios of n(SO42−) to n(NO3–) were 2:8, 3:7, 4:6 and 5:5, the average particle sizes of γ-Al2O3 nanoparticles were 23, 39.5, 41.5 and 45 nm, and the particle size distributions were from 11 to 37, 27 to 51, 27 to 60.5 and 29 to 61 nm, respectively.
