Abstract
BiOCl nanosheets/Fe2O3 nanorods heterostructures were synthesized via a one-step conversion of FeOCl/Fe2O3 nanorods. The optimal 20 %BiOCl/Fe2O3 heterostructure demonstrated a catalytic rate constant 85.5 times greater than FeOCl/Fe2O3 in visible-light-driven photodegradation of RhB. This excellent performance is due to the forming of an S-scheme heterostructure between BiOCl and Fe2O3 with abundant heterointerfaces, which greatly enhances the separation of electron-hole pairs and promotes the generation of active h+ and O2− species.
