Abstract

The reactions of moraprenol and dolichol with succinic and maleic anhydrides in the presence of pyridine or triethylamine were studied, and the conditions were found for the efficient synthesis of moraprenyl and dolichyl hydrogen succinates and maleates. These may be of interest as analogues of moraprenyl and dolichyl hydrogen phosphates with modified anionic groups.
