Abstract

DiethylAzodicarboxylate (DEAD) reacted readily with sufficiently activated aromatic compounds in the presence of 25 mol% BF<SUB>3</SUB>•O(Et)<SUB>2</SUB> as Lewis acid catalyst to afford monoarylhydrazides in reasonable-to-high yields (41-94%).
