Abstract

New derivatives of sterically hindered phenols were obtained. Their DNA-protective activity under UV irradiation was studied. The experimental results showed that the investigated compounds protected genetic material from both direct UVB radiation and reactive oxygen species generated in the cell by it. The new compounds were promising components for preparations that protect DNA from UV-radiation-induced damage.
