Abstract
A series of strongly hydrophilic surfactants have been examined for the synthesis of mesoporous silica under both acidic and basic conditions in the presence of different cations. This makes it possible to morphosynthesize mesostructured silica and adjust the pore openings to the border between micropore and mesopore regions.
