Abstract
Abstract The deposition of thick films of diamond by conventional dc arc jet processes is usually confined to small areas and is difficult to control in terms of quality, thickness and reproducibility. Modified and improved arc jet designs have been developed which can operate over a wide range of deposition conditions. Some approaches are described which will further reduce costs and make possible the application of thick large area diamond plates in a wide range of new products.
